店方周日发文回应，称 Molly 永久固定在墙上，本来就不卖。“好吧，不卖。Art of Play 就打算用这套说法了。”Clarkson 当天再发一帖回击，还附上一张据称是 Molly 价格标签的照片。她称，店员告诉她 Molly 要价1.5万美元，店里可以帮她找一款价格更低的类似商品。

And by the way, I obviously support small businesses because I was literally at a small business trying to purchase things. I love small businesses and know they are important and I always support them, but you don’t get a free pass to treat people less than in your store just because you are a small business. It’s not that hard to be kind. I never blast people but you my friend were an exception.

周一店方再发帖回应，称 Clarkson 在店内只待了五分钟。员工告诉她，这只鸟不卖，但机械鸟的创作者、住在西雅图的艺术家 Bliss Kolb 手上还有一只几乎一模一样的。“他告诉我们，他愿意以1.5万美元出售 Molly 的‘双胞胎’，”店方写道，“我们把这些都跟 Kelly Clarkson 解释过了。”
店方还称，他们曾提出给 Clarkson 看一只标价2000美元、当天就能带走的机械鸟，但她“没有待到看那只鸟的时候”。
之后事件持续发酵。一位记者 Pablo Torre 拿到了 Clarkson 在店内的监控视频，另一位名为 Sober Facts 的网红则指控该店根据种族区别对待顾客。
